On a summer road trip in July, a sudden prairie storm rolled in with hail and rain so heavy the road disappeared from view. Pulling off onto a side road to wait it out, the storm slowly passed. Near Mossleigh, the sky began to open and the light shifted.
As the sun set through the storm clouds, the landscape transformed. A former post office, built in 1906, stood quietly beneath the sky, framed by canola in bloom. It was a place long hoped for, but never imagined like this.
The moment was brief. A flash of lightning broke the stillness, a reminder to move on. What remained was a fleeting scene shaped by timing, patience, and the unexpected.
