My name is Jennifer Gregoire, I'm a self-taught photographer and I’ve been drawn to photography my entire life. I truly believe I was taking pictures long before I ever owned my first camera.
My full-time photography career started fifteen years ago when I opened a studio specializing in taking pictures of the most difficult of subjects: Pets of all varieties!
I'm city girl born and raised, though I now reside in a tiny rural town with my husband, our little boy, three cats and a fabulous pug called Fergie. I’m inspired by my new surroundings and I endeavour to capture the magic in the landscapes that are constantly changing around me. It’s not unusual for me to spend whole days traveling down gravel roads looking for treasure – an old homestead or abandoned barn, a vintage truck rusted with age. Finding these characters holds as much excitement for me as taking their photo – it’s like they have a story that I get to learn and share with everyone who sees my work.
When I’m not scouring southern Alberta for my next story, I love to travel and I’m always dreaming about the next stamp in my passport. I try to tell stories in my photos and take people away to different places by adding a human element or by playing with colour, size, shape and perspective. As Dr. Seuss said, “Oh, the places you’ll go!” The beach, the country, travel the world! Where can I take you today?
